The Dale Manor
Centrally positioned halfway between Carlisle and Newcastle upon Tyne lies The Dale Manor in the heart of Allendale Town, a fabulous venue you can hire exclusively for your team event, on a fully catered or self-catering basis. Whether you are planning a product launch, have a performance review lined up, need to get a head start on a new project or deal with a communication issue within your team – all valid and good reasons to get them away from the office into a comfortable, homely space that allows a fresh perspective, new ideas and motivates your team for the challenges ahead.
The Dale Manor is not a sterile corporate hotel with conference rooms for 600 guests just off the A1 – The Dale Manor is an beautifully refurbished, intimate Country House in the heart of the North Pennines where freshly brewed coffee, home baked biscuits and a cozy atmosphere help settle your team in for a constructive workshop or conference.
Country Catering at The Dale Manor
If you would like to book our chef to provide a fully catered stay for your team, you are in for a treat! The “full Monty” includes bacon and/or egg butties on arrival with mid-morning buttermilk biscuits, fresh coffee and tea. A buffet style hot and cold lunch typically consists of a variety of quiches, deep filled sandwiches, mini-jacket potatoes and a choice of two homemade soup with crusty rolls. Afternoon breaks can see scones and our famous chocolate brownies – still warm from the oven. Alternatively, the lunch can be a BBQ and enjoyed on the tables and chairs outside the sunroom, overlooking the wooded dene. If you are booking your stay to include overnight accommodation, we serve a delicious 2 or 3 course menu and can of course cater for a wide range of special dietary requirements and allergies – so long as you let us know in advance.
Activities and events
Northumberland Adventure can offer as little or as many activities during your stay as you wish. From informal and fun ice breaker tasks between your own workshop sessions to a full activity program to compliment your conference content and desired learning outcomes. These can include short team initiative problem solving tasks that are accessible to all levels of physical ability and fitness or go all the way to Search and Rescue Scenario tasks, special agent Operation Nimrod or traditional outdoor adventure like canoeing at Sweethope Loughs, rock climbing and abseiling at the Great Wanney Craggs or ghyll scrambling and waterfall jumping at Ashgill. A popular activity is also a navigational treasure hunt and orienteering around the grounds or further up onto the fells and along river paths, an archery competition or a trip down the underground mines with a candle lit packed lunch in the huge cave known as the Ballroom.
Health and Safety
All our activities are fully risk assessed and delivered by qualified and experienced instructors. Our insurance covers all the activities we provide and Northumberland Adventure is licensed by the Adventurous Activities Licensing Service (AALS).
